Maya Shleifer is an award-winning artist and designer. Her children’s books have been translated into many languages and celebrated around the world. She has visited many countries and was in New York City when she saw the smile on the subway featured in this book. She was born in Moldova, lived in Russia, settled in Israel, and currently lives and works in Berlin.
